For local online merchants, we leverage technology to efficiently fulfill and deliver their orders through our network of last mile providers.Flextock is a purpose driven company on a mission to enable more than 1 million merchants in Africa and the Middle East to sell online without carrying out the hassle of running their own operations.As an Accounting Manager you will be responsible for assisting in budgeting activities and accounting operationsJob description:Lead the accounting team and guide them to reduce AR aging and optimize collections and payments.Performs activities involved in the maintenance and control of the general ledger.Reviews and initiates and posts journal entries; monitors posted financial data; prepares financial analyses and reconciliations; researches and reviews transactions; and advises departments on proper coding.Assists in annual audit preparation, including supporting analyses and schedules. Assists auditors by researching issues, creating reports, and responding to audit findings.Ensures that accurate accounting records are maintained for fixed assets to ensure accuracy of general ledger and audit compliance.Prepare VAT Reports , payments, necessary paperwork, and reports.Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax reports.Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutionsManage and maintain the companys tax database.Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxesAssists in annual budget preparation and related projectionsReview internal controls for efficiency. Identifies and enforces internal controls related to the accounting team.Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection proceduresEnsure all team members follow the accounting principlesEnsure direct reports obtain applicable training and development opportunities to enhance performance, development, and contributions to the company. Holds direct reports accountable for individual and team performance. Addresses performance issues appropriately and timely.Complete other duties as assignedJob requirementsBachelors degree in accounting or relevant fieldKnowledge of sources of finance, ethics, accounting, and banking informationAbility to effectively utilize financial management/accounting systemsStrong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlinesCan deal with heavy data in an acceptable time manner.Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment with numerous interruptions.CMA holder is preferable.Knowledge with the odoo ERP system would be preferable.
