A. Job SummaryTo plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal in accordance to quality standards of Bahrain?s National Quality Framework, and regulations of Ministry of Education. B. Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:1) Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.2) Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.3) Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.4) Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.5) Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.6) Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.7) Contribute to strategic planning to guide the school through effective implementation of Teacher?s Professional Development System.8) Foster ethical and safe environment, which encourages collaboration, growth, and improvement.9) Lead collaborative efforts to evaluate the school along with other members of school community to create reports for relevant stakeholders.10) Ensure high quality standards of professional conduct being demonstrated at every aspect of duty and own behavior.11) Employ variety of effective teaching and learning strategies to meet the students? needs through assessment, classroom observation, monitoring and guidance.12) Provide appropriate feedback on work.13) Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.14) Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.15) Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by MOE policies and school regulations.16) Prepare required reports on students and activities.17) Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.18) Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.19) Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.20) Prepare classroom for class activities.21) Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.22) Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.23) Assign and grade class work, homework, tests/exams/assessment, books and practice books, student work, and others. 24) Contribute to the efforts of School Improvement Team in regards to planning, evaluation, implementation and monitoring.25) Attend staff meetings26) Abide to assigned supervision duty schedules, such as: student?s arrival time, break time, home time, field trips, tardiness shift, homeroom duty, and others as the case maybe.27) Proctor/Invigilate and checks assessment and exam papers. Home room assignments28) Attend to all school activities, such as: field trips, extra and co-curricular activities, seminars and trainings as part of professional development programs, among others.29) Conduct remedial classes.30) Abide to extra duties that may deemed necessary. These may be assigned with the approval of the Principal.C. Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following1) Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.2) Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.3) Participate in appropriate professional activities.4) Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations as directed.5) Other duties as assigned.D. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1) B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field of teaching2) Relevant certification in teaching in appropriate subject area.3) Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.4) Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.5) Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.6) Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.7) Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.8) Meet professional teacher education requirements of MOE. E. Physical RequirementsRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
