Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

• Review architectural plans and prepare quantity needs.
• Estimate the quantity and costs of materials.
• Prepare contracts and related documents.
• Track changes in plans or constructions; update budgets
• Act as a liaison between clients and site managers/engineers
• Keep track of construction materials and requirements.
• Document progress, materials, and reports on project
• Develop and maintain working relationships with contractors and subcontractors
• assist in establishing a clients requirements and undertake feasibility studies to ensure their proposals will work
• coordinate with site surveyors, foremen and engineers to achieve the required progress.
• prepare and analyze project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labor and time
• prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the engineer and/or the client
• negotiate contracts and work schedules, and assuring the proper progress as per schedules.
• allocate work to subcontractors and oversee their work at all stages of the construction
• provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
• analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports
