Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities : ?Review all documents relevant to the project;? Work closely with the design and construction supervision staff of ID and provide technical support tothem in terms of fulfilling their job requirements;? Collect necessary data and prepare training materials in various aspects of irrigation design, irrigation,procurement, implementation of construction works, quality control and quality assurance, and operationand maintenance;? Identify appropriate interventions in the Pilot Projects including improved field channel and channellayout that lead to cost effective demonstrations and maximum impact to the irrigation staff and farmingcommunity;? Work with the government counterparts/ mentors for the implementation of the pilot projects includingtheir survey, design, construction supervision, monitoring and evaluation and handover to the concernedIA/agency.? Contribute to the preparation of ?Technical Specifications for the Irrigation Construction Works? of the ID.? Design and implement training programs as training coordinator in various aspects of irrigationdevelopment that contribute to awareness of appropriate irrigation technologies and their application;? Design field level water management packages improved field channels and channel layout, land levelingand improved irrigation application methods that lead to maximum water use efficiency and more cropper drop;? Coordinate with other stakeholders in the field of irrigation and drainage in the project area to implementthe project activities in a comprehensive manner;? Compile the necessary material in the irrigation and drainage aspect for the project reporting (Quarterly,Semi-annual and Annual Reports and Inception and Terminal reports);? Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Project CTA.
