Job Description

Job Purpose :The Centre Manager (CM) is responsible for the day-to-day administration activities and process of the organisation in order to ensure the efficient and effective establishment of the organisation. The CM will develop systems and processes to create a strong administrative and operational platform that can support the delivery of medical services (physiotherapy and psychotherapy) and the production of research. The CM will work closely with the Executive Director to help develop the profile of the organisation through communications activities and broader external outreach. This role should help deliver on a world class centre that is locally recognised as a leader in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) services and research and that works with existing institutions and practitioners in the field to encourage collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and insights.Duties and Responsibilities :Leadership and Strategy

  • Lead the organisation by developing and delivering on its mission, vision, and services
  • Ensure operations, finance, marketing/comms, human resources, technology/data collection and programs are effectively implemented
  • Advise and inform the Executive Director of overall evaluation of goals, outcomes and outputs
  • Maintain current skills and knowledge of best practices within the field of philanthropy, attending seminars and professional training institutes as appropriate.
  • Create and promote a positive, multicultural diverse work environment that supports the organisation?s strategy, operational methods, and stakeholder engagement.
Management
  • Manage the day to day running of the organisation and create, develop and implement all relevant new procedures/processes and systems to support its establishment
  • Manage the administration of the organisation, including allocating work, explain new processes and procedures, monitoring performance and progress
  • Manage the use of office space, oversees and coordinates maintenance and refurbishments of all assets, supplies and services
  • Responsible for health and safety in the organisation. Completes a monthly safety check of the building, ensures staff are working in a safe environment, carries out a health and safety induction for all new staff
  • Inform the Executive Director of key challenges and opportunities and facilitate discussions and deliberations
Financial, Risk and Measurement
  • Oversee the preparation and management of the yearly budget including expense management for the approval of the Executive Director
  • Monitor expenditure to ensure it is properly planned, compile and present draft budgets for approval, monitor expenditure against budget, account for variances, keep management up to date and flag up any concerns
  • Prudently manage the organisation?s resources within budget guidelines
  • Oversee fiscal activities of the organisation including budgeting, reporting and audit
  • Assure the filing of all legal and regulatory documents
Human Resource Management
  • Effectively manage human resources of the organisation in line with local and international standards
  • Draft role descriptions and advertisements
  • Assure a work environment that recruits, retains, and supports quality staff
  • Recruit personnel, negotiate professional contracts
  • Ensure that employment policies are enforced and in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Specify accountabilities for personnel and evaluate performance regularly
Communications
  • Assure the organisation and its mission, programs, products, and services are consistently presented in a strong and positive light to relevant stakeholders
  • Manages communications activities including production of communications content, managing online platforms and supporting IT and Comms with building the organisation?s profile online.
  • Serve as chief spokesperson and assure proper representation
  • Promote visibility through participation and membership in community forums, civic organisations, and activities that align with mission and vision
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain cooperative relationship with key constituencies.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a postgraduate (Masters) qualification in related discipline
  • At least 7 years of overall professional experience
  • Experience in a senior administrative role
  • Experience in working in the third sector
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures
  • Knowledge in management of health sector services
  • Excellent proficiency in both English and Arabic
