Duties and Responsibilities5.1???Abides by the medical staff bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations??????of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department.5.2???To evaluate and give medical care to all patients of Home Health Care (HHC).5.3???Visits patients at home and schedules follow up visit and reassessment.5.4???Initiates investigations which will confirm, establish, or rule out diagnosis, or be of???????benefit to the patient.5.5???Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients / families in an effort to promote??????compliance and shared participation in a caring environment.?5.6???Inform patient regarding latest laboratory results and any change in medication and??????doses.5.7???Provides the attainable standard of medical care for HHC patients.5.8???Refers patients to appropriate specialist for opinion or treatment as deemed?????????????necessary.5.9???Practice active listening and excellent communication skills with patients, their??????????families and all staff, addressing patient concerns as the highest priority.5.10?Carries out other clinical duties as assigned by the Consultant in accordance with????????individually approved clinical privileges.?5.11?Participates in teaching of staff assigned for training purposes.5.12?Attends the Continuing Medical Education Programme of the department and???????????hospital-wide education programs.5.13?Shares workload in his / her specialty during the absence of his colleagues.5.14?Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard???????to?morbidity and cost effectiveness.5.15?Participates in Environmental Safety Rounds.5.16?Is responsible for keeping updated in Infection Control, Fire and Safety and????????????Disaster?Training on a yearly basis.5.17?Is responsible for keeping Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certification and????????????updated?on a 2 years basis.5.18?Promotes health education to patient and their family regarding medical conditions???????and their treatment options as well as preventive care strategies of nutrition,????????????exercise?and hygiene.5.19?Participates in CQI & PS Activities.
