Duties and Responsibilities5.1???Abides by all related Hospital Wide policies and Procedures, Hospital bylaws and?????????those specific to the department.5.2???At all times adhere to confidentiality code of conduct, protecting patient?s rights to?privacy.5.3???Assumes responsibility for the efficient day to day management and????standards of the?Radiotherapy Physics section and for the provision of optimal radiotherapy treatment?planning radiological calculations, in-vitro measurements and clinical dosimetry to all?patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment planning.5.4???Develop and implement new treatment planning techniques in conjunction with?Oncologist.5.5???Supervise the stock control, testing and safety of sealed radioactive????sources.5.6???Study and assess new advance in the state-of-the-art of medical sciences and?associated technologies, and to relate and to apply these developments to finding?solutions to clinical problems.5.7???Initiate research projects and publish original clinical and scientific work.5.8???Assist the Director of the Department in ensuring that there is effective??and full?utilization of the resources available in the department.5.9???Provides advice on new equipment and facilities requirement in the field of Radiation?Therapy.5.10?Assist the Director of the Department in anticipating areas of clinical developments, in?formulating plans and developing alternative strategies so that an optimal and efficient?clinical and scientific service can be provided.5.11?Ensure that work done by subordinate staff conforms to established protocols and local?????????rules of radiation protection.5.12?Undertake on-call duties, as required by the department.5.13?Teach staff assigned for training purposes and participate with the director of the?department in planning a program of career development for trainees and residents.5.14?Strive to improve his scientific and clinical expertise as well as standard of practice?and acquaint himself with any current trend in his field of specialty.5.15?Deputize for his superior as required.5.16?Participates in the quality improvement of the service (Continuous Improvement and?Patient Safety) as applicable.5.17?Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of employee?s??knowledge, skills and abilities.5.18?Monitor section, timekeeping, performance, absenteeism, tardiness, dress code etc.5.19?Review complete work documentation for timeliness, completeness and accuracy.5.20?Attend advance professional training and conferences of interest in his field or?specialty to maintain the required CME?s by the SCFHS.
