If this sounds exciting, we?d love to hear from you!About the opportunity:As the Sr Policy Associate, reporting to the Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs, you will support the VP in driving internal strategic policy planning, advocate for Ting?s interests with federal and local agencies and officials and track broadband policy developments. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to develop positive relationships within the organization and externally with state broadband agencies, local residents and officials at all levels of government and private enterprise. Another key aspect of your role will include conducting outreach and developing local plans for providing internet to underserved communities.What youll be doing:

  • Track available broadband subsidies and infrastructure grants, provide recommendations to leadership about prioritizing opportunities, and project manage the application process
  • Participate in local, regional, and national broadband policy stakeholder meetings + create coalitions around our policy goals:
  • Policy media monitoring in current and prospective markets
  • Refine Ting?s digital inclusion strategy and collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch across existing and new markets
  • Collaborate with local officials and housing authorities to develop local plans for providing internet to underserved communities, and leverage city resources to educate residents and assist with enrollment in the Affordable Connectivity Program
  • Develop tractable goals for Ting?s digital inclusion program, cultivate discipline for measuring results against those goals in the next 12 months
  • Support city engagement team, as needed, by addressing local policy hurdles related to construction requirements
  • US travel, as needed
What youll bring:
  • Preferably 3-5 years of work experience in policy and digital inclusion
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Experience working with local government or political campaigns
  • Familiarity with telecommunications policy
  • Passion for community engagement and digital inclusion
  • Comfort with a highly collaborative environment
