(ARA) is seeking aSenior Financial Analystto support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) in the investment and monitoring of R&D funds. This position is onsite at a Government location(s) in the National Capital Region (and telecommuting where approved). The candidate demonstrates mature judgement required to interface with senior Government personnel and external stakeholders including other Government agencies, academia, and industry. The Financial Analyst will perform analyses of programs and projects and support services such as planning, programming, budgeting, executing (PPBE) and tracking data. The candidate also coordinates administrative functions and process improvement.This position requires a candidate with experience performing a variety of financial analysis, tracking, and administrative functions including:Having strong written and verbal communications skillsHaving excellent time management skillsSupport preparation and execution of finance and budget materialsSupport the preparation of Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs) and Inter-Agency Agreements (IAAs)Monitor program budget executionSupport the identification of financial discrepancies and coordinate corrective actionsRequired Qualifications:BA/BS with 8-10 years of relevant experienceMinimum DoD Secret clearanceExperience with planning, programming, budgeting, executing (PPBE) and tracking dataExperience using OSD-specific financial databases e.g., DAI, EMS, G-invoicingExpertise with MS ExcelDesired Qualifications:MS or higher* DoD Financial Management CertificationThis position is contingent upon award of a contract expected ~ supporting the Department of Defense.COMPANY INFORMATION:Applied Research Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
