We are seeking a qualified engineering expert who demonstrates creativity, foresight, initiative, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems. Responsibilities include acting as the technical lead providing planning, development, testing, and oversight across a complex and dynamic portfolio of capabilities of the highest national priority. The candidate will require technical expertise across engineering and its sub-disciplines. The successful candidate will also help posture and grow ARA cross-company growth opportunities in the DoD, IC, DHS, and commercial marketspace. This position requires a candidate with experience performing a variety of complex engineering tasks across the engineering tools and environment discipline, including: * Advises, discovers, and if necessary, develops systems, digital, and model-based techniques and artifact implementation processes in support of systems engineering applications* Leads creation of standards, policy, guidance, and training to advance the state of practice across engineering and its sub-disciplines* Remains current in operating systems analysis and technological developments/applications* Develop and support transition and implementation plan(s) for engineering in specific areas of interest such as development/employment of Modular Open Systems Approaches or digital engineering effectiveness metrics, establishing minimum viable capability guides, etc.* Engage and coordinate with other DoD organizations and stakeholders to create understanding and promote engineering policies and guidance* Guides and manages all technical and programmatic matters of the Task Order and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Task Order.* Capable of tracking Task Order efforts to rapidly identify and resolve potential and new problems.* Oversee the performance of less experienced systems engineersRequired Qualifications:* Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline that is relevant to engineering with 12 years of engineering experience* US citizen with a minimum DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility* Expertise with or practical application of DoD 5000 Series of instructionsDesired Qualifications:Active membership in professional associatione.g.*, INCOSE, IEEE, AoCActive professional or academic certificate in related engineering areae.g.*, DAWIA, Professional Engineer, CISSP, CEH* Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense* Experience supporting or working with the Defense Research & Engineering community* Hands on experience in the RDT&E of technologies or complex systems This position is contingent upon award of a contract expected in Winter 2021 supporting the Department of Defense.COMPANY INFORMATION:Applied Research Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
