The team is responsible for producing aluminum extruded shapes that meet customer specifications: operating saws, moving material, operating an extrusion press, packing material, moving dies, participating in 5S initiatives, etc. This person will be cross trained in multiple areas as needed to meet department and business needs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.Provide, promote and ensure a safe work environment throughout the entire facility by following all safety programs and policiesContinuously build relationships throughout the department in order to best serve and support co-workers and employeesEnsure the department has the tools and resources to keep other departments informed of any delays or changes in scheduled arrival times of products required by the departmentProvide leadership to Extrusion department team members:+ Ensure expectations and responsibilities are known and followed+ Ensure proper resourcing and staffing+ Communicate priorities and project assignments+ Monitor employee performance and evaluations+ Provide continuing education, training and development, and coaching opportunities+ Delegate special projects+ Develop and implement adequate cross-trainingParticipate in the interviewing and selection process for department openings as neededIdentify and implement methods for reducing costs and expenses in the departmentApply continuous improvement techniques to improve department operationsPartner with various managers and teams to continuously analyze and ensure the quality of aluminum extrusions meets company standardsReview and analyze department data and trends to make continuous improvement recommendationsOversee continuous improvement initiatives in regards to revenue generation and top die performanceKeep work area clean and orderly using 5S systemOTHER JOB DUTIES: (Not considered essential to the job)Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:High School diploma or equivalent degreeAssociates or Bachelors degree in business management or related program preferredExperience:2+ years of manufacturing experience required2+ years of Aluminum Extrusion experience preferred1+ years of leadership experience preferredOther required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to recognize safety concernsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong listening skillsAbility to provide strong servant leadership skills and support to team membersAbility to take part in continuous education and trainingAbility to interact at a high level with all levels of the organizationAbility to maintain professionalism and composure in every situationStrong knowledge and understanding of all key extrusion department componentsAbility to lead and influence othersBlueprint readingEQUIPMENT USEDOffice Equipment (computer, phone, printer, scanner, copier and fax machine)Measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measure, etc.)QualificationsSkillsBehaviors:Motivations:EducationExperienceLicenses & Certifications
