AASA, The School Superintendents Association advocates for equitable access for all students to the highest quality public education and the development and support of school system leaders.The AASA is seeking an Executive Director who can provide outstanding advocacy and support for education and educators at the national level. The Executive Director of AASA is selected and governed by the Officers and Executive Board of the AASA membership. The candidate for this position must be experienced and knowledgeable about all aspects of school administration at the local, state, and federal levels. Support and advocacy for school administrators, who comprise the membership of AASA, is the highest priority. This includes providing leadership and public support to promote the essential role of superintendents in public education in all national issues that impact education. The Director must expand and add value to the membership through relevant programming, the delivery of quality services, and beneficial collaborations.The position is open until filled. Resume screening will start in late June and the first round of interviews will be scheduled in late September 2022. The selected candidate will have a possible start date of January 1, 2023. The selected candidate will be expected to reside in the Washington, DC metro area.
