Job Description

DescriptionSAIC has career opportunities to support the Army Aviation and Missile Defense programs. These positions will be located in Huntsville, AL.The Innovation Factory Hub in Huntsville has developed cloud-based information technology infrastructure to host mission systems, applications, services, and data. This serves the Army Modernization Enterprise (AME). The end state is to enable Army leaders at every echelon to make fully informed, data driven decisions, based on authoritative and/or production data sources. This infrastructure accomplishes this end state by providing a build-for-purpose application hosting environment for the eco-system of applications aligned to the AME?s mission and business processes. SAIC provides supports services to further improve upon cloud-based integrated digital engineering and DevSecOps Environment. This includes digital thread, digital engineering, digital twin, data and software engineering support for the Army Data Science Teams, application migration support, and additional expert service support. SAIC will provide the expertise necessary to strategize, design, and continually improve Army?s use of commercial cloud environments.These services will:

  • Provide an enterprise level, cloud based environment to support the computing, data storage, data access, application development, and analytic process of Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC).
  • Enable the migration of subordinate elements to a cloud environment by providing the necessary shared commons services and cyber security controls inheritance.
  • Support the migration of enterprise and mission applications currently hosted on Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN), and Secure Defense Research and Engineering Network (SDREN).
  • Establish a centralized data warehouse containing curated, rationalized data.
  • Establish an enterprise DevSecOps capability to support development and deployment of future applications drawing data from, and populating data to, the central warehouse.
  • Establish an enterprise Data Science capability to support innovative analysis.
As part of this effort, SAIC is looking for experienced personnel to support the Technical Solution Delivery aspect in the area of Cloud & Cybersecurity (Platform Team) .QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.Skills and Experience to support this team:
  • Deep understanding of the design, deployment and management of cloud resources in numerous environments (Azure, AWSetc.)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes implementation in Cloud environments
  • Ability to prioritize usage to most efficiently allocate resources to maximize developer experience and stay within budget
  • Knowledge of networking, security groups and policy management in relation to cloud resources
  • Applicable Azure certifications (Administrator, Architect Technologies/Design) and/or AWS certifications (SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect Associate)
  • Possesses a strong security first mindset.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban frameworks
  • DevOps or DevSecOps certification or training
  • Other applicable Azure certifications (or AWS), Security certifications
