Job Description

DescriptionSAIC has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the System, Simulations and Software Directorate (S3I) located on Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.The candidate will be responsible for working with an engineering team in the design, operation, and sustainment of military aviation systems. The successful candidate will support requirements analysis and management, definition of new requirements and use cases with allocation of requirements to subsystems and configuration items.Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring requirements are captured, traced, analyzed, and managed.
  • Responsible for managing and controlling requirement baselines and changes.
  • Responsible for tracking software development and changes, and incorporating those into the existing system requirements as applicable.
  • Support software engineering to identify requirements gaps.
  • Support the test engineering with test product linking to requirements and support documentation connectivity between test plans, procedures, and reports with the existing requirements.
  • Support the test team to maintain completeness of requirements and documentation in a structured and testable framework and language.
  • Support the software safety engineering team including the analysis of software that can contribute to a hazard.
  • Responsible for aligning requirements and documentation with Safety and Information Assurance (IA) standards.
  • Responsible for providing schedule status on system engineering activities.
  • Communicate effectively with other program staff, government stakeholders, and senior executives.
QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experienceCLEARANCE:  Ability to obtain a secret security clearanceREQUIRED SKILLS:
  • 5+ years of experience with DoD systems engineering
  • Ability to function well within a fast paced team
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing requirements in DOORS
  • MBSE experience highly desired
  • Understanding of MOSA concepts is desired
