Job Description

DescriptionSAIC is currently seeking to hire a Software Engineer Lead to support the Joint Systems Integration Laboratory (JSIL) Program located in Huntsville, Alabama.SAIC is in need of a Program Software Engineer Lead to support our multiple Joint Technology Center Systems Integration Laboratory (JSIL) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) projects. The JSIL UAS Program includes multiple projects that provide simulation, training, development, research, integration, and testing of Department of Defense unmanned platforms systems with a focus towards the warfighter.Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate evaluation and experimentation of new technologies, programming languages, developer tools, and best practices
  • Review software architectures and software stack to provide guidance in regards to innovation, quality, and maintainability
  • Facilitate continuous delivery and DevSecOps infrastructure
  • Collecting, creating, and analyzing new ideas that could improve products or processes
  • Create, identify, and refine software best practices that should exist in the JSIL Process Library
  • Help identify, organize, and maintain shared code used across multiple JSIL programs
  • Support software development environment improvements, maintainability, and modernization
  • Assist in management and the planning of developer staffing needs across all JSIL programs
  • Participate in creation of staffing projections for upcoming fiscal years
  • Create and/or review ROMs for new or large efforts for technical accuracy
  • Assist in developing roadmaps and initiatives for new customers and/or new technology domains
Additional Information:Program Software Engineer Lead candidate will need excellent communication skills to collaborate with the internal/external customer, JSIL chief engineer, agile development teams, project managers, OEMs, and other stakeholders. Program Software Engineer Lead candidate will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple contractors and teaming partners and must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable, flexible, and have excellent interpersonal and verbal/written/presentation communication skills. QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelors degree with fourteen (14) years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.Required Clearance:Must have an active Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required.Required Skills:
  • Full Software Stack Development Experience (C#, .NET Framework, Visual Studio IDE)
  • Software Architecture relevant experience
  • Agile/SCRUM Development Methodology
Desired Skills:
  • Azure DevOps Services
  • Automated testing methodologies and tooling
  • Software pipeline maintenance and improvements
  • Modeling Simulation common Protocols/Interfaces (Example DIS, CIGI)
  • UAS Interoperability Standards (Example NITF 2.1, STANAG 4586/4607/4676)
  • Army and Air Force Training Systems Background/Experience
  • UAS-RPA Projects Experience
  • ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) Background/Experience
