DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Chief Information Office at the DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center, at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama for application development and maintenance located in Huntsville, Alabama.Note: This is a hybrid position; the candidate must live in the Huntsville Alabama area. The normal schedule is three days on site at Redstone Arsenal and two days remote.Position Overview:The Software Engineer candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and apply new technologies to solve problems and provide new capabilities. Candidate must have experience with full-stack .NET development in C# with an emphasis on web development, including websites and web APIs using both the Web Forms and MVC design patterns. Candidate must also have experience with SQL Server, including writing and debugging SQL scripts, and designing and modifying database schemas.The Software Engineer duties and responsibilities will include:

• Understand, translate, and refine customer requirements into software designs and solutions for new and existing apps.
• Create applications using Visual Studio/.Net.
• Document applications including system and user documents and STIGs and code documentation.
• Modify existing applications to modernize as needed.
• Update functionality as organizational needs change.
• Perform peer code reviews if/when needed
• Identify and resolve (bugs) technical issues that arise during development
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with development team members
• Take ownership of assigned sprint work, support tasks, and program initiatives
• Effectively engage with the team in daily standups, planning, and meetings
• Identify potential risks to program and propose mitigating solutions

QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelors and five (5) years experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.Required Skills:

• 5 years of experience as Software Engineer or Developer
• Strong experience in full-stack .NET development, specifically with C# and ASP.NET
• Strong experience with web applications, including websites and web APIs
• Experience with both Web Forms and MVC design patterns
• Strong experience with SQL Server, including writing and debugging Transact-SQL scripts and SQL server back-ends or other db driven applications
• Strong experience with Microsoft development tools, including Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio
• Experience writing software in a DoD environment

Required Certifications:Must possess CompTIA Security+ certificationRequired Clearance:Must have an active Secret Security clearance; US Citizenship requiredDesired Experience:

• Experience with Multi-tier architecture and Agile development
• Razor Pages, Model Binding, Fortify,
• Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• jQuery, Bootstrap 3/4/5
• Familiarity with ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow
• .NET Core and Entity Framework Core
• DoD STIG remediation
• Atlassian tools like JIRA
