DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Software Engineer, Senior to join our team supporting the S3I program in Huntsville, AL.SAIC is supporting the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) in continuation of the Improved Data Modem (IDM) sustainment and development. The IDM is a communication device for the Army rotorcraft digital fleet. It is an Airworthy hardware and software system. The S3I is supporting software sustainment for fielded IDM systems and an update to transition to the Aviation Mission Common Server (AMCS) Multi-Core (MC) implementation of IDM Software Application (ISA). A Senior Software Engineer is needed to lead the Multi-Core Processor (MCP) Operating Enviorment (OE) Team. The AMCS/MCP OE is a multi-core operating environment designed to execute multiple guest applications simultaneously in a tuMP time and space partitioned environment. The backbone of the AMCS/MCP OE is the Green Hills (GH) Integrity-178 Real Time Operating System (RTOS). The position involves maintaining and updating the IDM 401 (MCP OE) as well as functioning as the Lead System Integrator for the IDM 501 (AMCS OE) which is the next generation of the IDM 401 MCP OE.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with Chief Engineer, Architect and Systems Engineering to help define 10.3 architecture and requirements for 10.3 capability sets as identified by the customer.
• Lead a team of development and test engineers in an Agile SW environment to implement 10.3 capability sets as identified by the customer.
• Work with the Worst Case Execution time team in analyzing the performance of applications hosted by the AMCS/MCP OE.
• Function as Scrum Master for the AMCS/MCP OE Team in estimating the required work defined in each Epic resulting in an Integrated Master Schedule that includes all Epics.
• Review and approve ALL code checked in by the team to make sure it meets airworthiness certification requirements and coding standards.
• Create status and review presentations to be given to the customer on a weekly basis.
• Support complete software development lifecycle
• Review Unit Test and Code Coverage analysis to make sure it meets airworthiness certification requirements.
• Produce software documentation (SDD, SVD, SUM) sufficient to support airworthiness certification.
• Analyze system, software, and hardware specifications and interface documents
• Provide leadership for interdisciplinary teams as required for design, documentation, implementation and test of incremental functional capabilities.

QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelor?s Degree and 9 years experience; 4 years experience acccepted in lieu of degree.Required Skills:

• Experience in leading a team of engineers including developers, testers and system engineers
• Embedded systems software development
• Software development using C/C++
• Full Software Development Lifecycle to include developing software component design, implementation, and unit test artifacts
• Knowledge of Unit Test and Code Coverage practices
• GitLab
• Real Time Operating System (RTOS) experience, Green Hills Integrity 178B is highly desired
• Experience developing for distributed systems
• Network sockets experience including TCP, UDP and Multicast protocols
• Demonstrated experience developing software to implement ICDs
• Less than 10% Travel should be expected
• Ability to work under a deadline
• Strong desire to continually learn and improve
• Proficient in MS Office

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with Mil-Std-1553
• Experience integrating hardware/software with Army Rotary Wing Platforms
• Experience developing host interfaces for the Armys Combat Net Radios
• Highly desired, previous knowledge of IDM system or software
• Experience with multicore SW projects
• Familiar with DO-178 DAL C
