Job Description

DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Chief Information Office at the DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center, at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama to support business application development and maintenance. This is a HYBRID position; The normal schedule is three days on site at Redstone Arsenal and two days remote. The Software Engineer candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and apply new technologies to solve problems and provide new capabilities. Candidate must have experience with full-stack .NET development in C# with an emphasis on web development, including websites and web APIs using both the Web Forms and MVC design patterns. Candidate must also have experience with SQL Server, including writing and debugging SQL scripts, and designing and modifying database schemas. The Software Engineer duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze the needs of the customers, users, and other stakeholders
  • Analyze, design, and develop object-oriented or service-oriented solutions that can address these needs
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during development
  • Communicate and coordinating effectively with members of development and leadership teams
  • Work within our development environment, take ownership of assigned sprint work, support tasks, and program initiatives
  • Effectively engage with the team in daily standups, planning, and other team meetings
  • Identify and communicate potential risks to program and propose mitigating solutions
  • Utilize SecDevOps best practices when planning, developing, or deploying solutions
  • Utilize DevOps best practices including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience as a Software Engineer/Developer
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Strong experience in full-stack .NET development, specifically with C# and ASP.NET
  • Strong experience with web applications, including websites and web APIs
  • Experience with both Web Forms and MVC design patterns
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, including writing and debugging Transact-SQL scripts
  • Strong experience with Microsoft development tools, including Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Candidate must reside in the Huntsville, Alabama area
