Job Description

DescriptionSAIC is currently looking to hire aPrincipal Software Engineerto join our Mounted Computing Environment-Mouted Mission Command (MCE/MMC) team supporting the US Army located in Huntsville, AL.About the program: MCE will provide integrated, on-the-move, mission command information and situational awareness to maneuver platforms throughout the unit?s area of operations. Brigade and battalion-level units will employ MCE to gain near real-time situational awareness and mission command capability to assist in the accomplishment of their combat missions.Job Responsibiltiies:

  • Analyze the needs of the customers, users, and other stakeholders
  • Design, and develop object-oriented or service-oriented solutions that can address these needs
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during development
  • Communicate and coordinateeffectively with members of development and leadership teams
  • Creating solutions in networking, security, communications, monitoring and interoperability
  • Candidate will code, and implement standards that are extensible, flexible, and easy to maintain
  • Work with cybersecurity engineers to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.Required Clearance:Interim Secret Clearance required prior to employment; must be able to obtain full Secret Clearance; US citizenship requiredRequired Skills:
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum development process
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply software support and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Experience with Git, preferably with Gitflow workflow or similar
  • Experience with DevOps principles and practices; strong analytic and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational, time-management, verbal communication, and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with a ?can do? attitude
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to function at a fast pace with multiple projects and associated deadlines
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with OSGI / micro-services development preferred.
  • Experience with socket and/or network programming preferred.
  • Experience with functional programming, reactive programming, and enterprise integration patterns preferred
