NASA?s Knowledge Management suit enables information-driven operations by providing a Cognitive Search and Analytics platform that brings together all enterprise information assets and intelligently serves up the most pertinent information and insights regardless of content, source system, or format. We do this through a state-of-the-art engine that applies natural language processing, machine learning, and data modeling to make sense of the vast and rapidly growing content in NASA and external to NASA.Your role:The Data Scientist will become a technical expert in NASA?s Knowledge Management software focused on implementing the platform and executing rapid and agile projects that delivers advanced knowledge management capability tuned for each of NASA?s communities of practice. They will be comfortable with complex data sources, and technical nuances of software and hardware. Data Scientists help customize agile projects to meet specific requirements, such as building custom data models, building custom data visuals, or helping connect to novel data sources and formats.The Data Scientist will receive training on NASA?s Sinequa, Alteryx, and Tableau software platform, advanced technology (Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Data Modeling) and tools.Your responsibilities:Deliver on the technical requirements and success criteria for each data science project by working with the NASA customer and with platform databases, Alteryx, Tableau, and platform Engineers to understand and meet the customer?s needsGive presentations and answer detailed questions on the technical aspects of Alteryx and Tableau ? architecture, operation, and capabilitiesCoach NASA customer data analysts & scientists, define best practices, and promote knowledge sharing to grow the team?s abilityConfigure the Alteryx or Tableau software to connect to data sources, visualize data and tailor the user interface to best represent the results for each unique type of NASA user.QualificationsRequired Education:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
• Years of experience accepted in leiu of degree.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4 years minimum experience in using/developing Tableau visualization and/or Alteryx products
• Deep understanding of the Microsoft Windows operating system and high proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Experience working in technical areas including structured data, analytics, SQL
• Bachelor?s degree in a technical field (CS/IS/IT, engineering)

Desired Skills:

• Pursuing Master?s degree in a technical field (CS/IS/IT, engineering)
• Experience in designing software UI and UX focused on user needs and business use cases
• Experience with search and search platforms
• Experience with analytics, business intelligence, or data science
• Experience with Machine Learning and/or Big Data
• Experience with unstructured data (NLP, text processing)
• Experience or formal training in databases and structured data

Clearance:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
