Job Description

DescriptionSAIC is seeking aDOORS Administratorto support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Next Generation Interceptor Project Office (NGI) in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate must have:

  • Extensive knowledge of the systems engineering process and previous experience in writing system engineering requirements using DOORS.
  • Ability to communicate to Government Leadership on DOORS database structure and processes
  • Build and maintain DOORS specific tools; and generate specifications/documents from DOORS modules using DXL or the Rational Publishing Engine (RPE).
  • Management engineering expertise as the organizations DOORS administrator.
  • Resolve database issues; create/delete accounts; link specifications and be able to train and guide new and existing DOORS users to use built-in/developed tools. The position address requirements in three specific areas: MBSE (digital engineering) Verification, and Compliance.
Other services to the program will include working with the digital engineering team to import requirements into CAMEO using Datahub.The selected candidate will also be required to collaborate with other MDA team members to leverage best practices, share system engineering capabilities, and support new team initiatives.QualificationsRequired Experience Requirements:
  • Masters Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelors Degree and 20+ years of experience in lieu of a Masters Degree
  • Experience with Requirements Development and Management
Required Clearance:
  • Active Secret Clearance
Required Skills:
  • Fluency in the use of DOORs Requirements Management tool, RPE, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Build and export trace reports into Excel and Word
  • Exporting/importing objects to/from Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of DOORS Administration and DOORS Architecture
  • Knowledge of the DOORS eXtension Language (DXL)
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for both Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of EARS-requirements development
  • Ability to effectively participate and collaborate with functionally and geographically diverse teams of engineering professionals with differing perspectives, skills and backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate relevant, well organized, complex ideas to audiences at all levels; oral and written
  • Motivated, energetic self-starter with excellent people skills, ability to work in a team environment, strong work ethic and proactive in all manners related to the job
Desired Experience Requirements:
  • General understanding of the MDA Systems Engineering practices and processes
  • Knowledge of Rational Publishing Engine (RPE)
  • Ability to build/maintain RPE Studio/Launcher templates
  • Knowledge of dashboard tools i.e. Qlik
  • Previous responsibility for budget and schedule of small integration or development teams
  • Knowledge of CAMEO
  • Possess creative, analytical, strategic, outside-the-box thinking and problem solving
