Job Description

DescriptionSAIC is recruiting a Director of Business Development that would be responsible to support the pursuit and capture of business opportunities within the Army Missiles and Space portfolio.The successful candidate will demonstrate the experience and career path trajectory required to manage the full scope of business practices required to manage a book of business, including business development, pipeline development, client management, and proposal development support responsibilities.This position is based in Huntsville Alabama; competitive candidates will be required to local access to customers supporting regular engagements within Redstone Arsenal and Huntsville Market. Job Duties:

  • Understand the missions of the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command and the Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space, and the DEVCOM Aviation and Missiles Center. Include a strong understanding of their cultures, organizational components, leadership, major programs and their challenges.
  • Lead target customers strategic planning and positioning with full support from a corporate infrastructure that includes, capture management, proposal development and management, subject matter expertise covering a broad range of portfolio capabilities.
  • Opportunity identification, qualification and maturation to assist SAIC in growing new business and building opportunities for growth on existing contracts.
  • Lead throughout the qualification process and stay deeply involved in develop ping the company?s win strategy and manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities in various stages of maturity.
  • Promote the complete portfolio of services from SAIC?s Market Segments to our client base.

QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors and at least fifteen (15) years of experience in either managing Army Acquisition programs or experience in the execution of program management and or business development within industry supporting Army missile programs.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated sustained ability and reputation of winning complex, prime integration services or systems engineering contract awards with values over $100M that meets and exceeds challenging goals and quotas is required.
  • Related, recent and proven business development experience at PEO Missile and Space and or US Army Space and Missile Defense Command.
  • Ability to reference a portfolio of submittals and awards that include experience in all types of government contracts (FFP, T&M, Cost Plus) and full array of capture strategies (major re-competes, incumbent capture, sole source, etc.).
  • Reputation for being able to build and work within high performance teams in a matrix-management environment.
  • Communicate well with senior and executive management within a company and with key federal customers.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills in order to carry- out daily interactions with technical leaders and business executives within SAIC, with the customers, and with teammates and subcontractors.
Required Clearance:
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
Required Travel:
  • Estimate to be less than 25% of overall work requirements.
