Job Description

DescriptionSAIC has an opening for a Defense Engineering Intern to support onsite at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

  • Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. 
  • Receives assignments in the form of specific tasks for the work to be completed. 
  • Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives and schedules. 
  • Supports preparation of detail design. 
  • Support development with embedded software for military systems.
FOCUS AREAS:
  • Mechanical Engineering - develop preliminary designs and prototypes based on functional decomposition of requirements using CAD/CFD/FEA, modeling, simulation, analysis, traditional fabrication, and rapid prototyping
  • Software Engineering support full software life cycle development (requirements analysis, design, code, integration, test, documentation and support) following CMMI processes for military systems
  • Cloud Engineering support and deliver cloud solutions using a highly automated, cloud-hosted toolset; agile practices; and DevSecOps production chains to rapidly build, test, and deploy
  • Test Engineering - assist with static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages.  
QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Currently enrolled in college for STEM/technical degree path and one (1) years of experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, virtual meeting, and using cloud based tools. 
  • Solid work experience with customers/resolving issues while meeting schedule requirements.
  • Must possess good oral and written communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be motivated, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail.    
  • Ability to encourage, inspire, and participate in teamwork.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
  • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship is required).
