Job Description

DescriptionSAIC has a need for aAviation Engineerto support the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering, and Integration (S3I) Directorate Aviation (AVN) System Integration Lab (SIL) programs located in Huntsville, AL.The primary work focus will involve building, maintaining, updating, and testing the AH-64D/E, CH-47F, and UH-60M/V SILs at the S3I and the Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) Architecture Integration Lab (AIL) facilities.Day-to-day activities include:

  • Read schematics
  • Build and run cables
  • Incorporate Modification Work Orders (MWOs)
  • Provide technical design support
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Assist in resolving product development issues
  • Perform the testing necessary to ensure the AVN SILs function properly
  • Support systemsoftware testing
Additional responsibilities would include:
  • Working in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion
  • Effectively communicate with team and customers, both verbally and through e-mail
  • Must be willing and eager to learn from peers and senior engineers in order to learn new roles and responsibilities,
  • Must be hard-working, accountable, and present themselves professionally in front of customers and peers
QualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.Equivalent military training and job experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.Required Experience:
  • Trained on US Army Rotary Wing Aircraft
  • The successful candidate must have experience with building electrical cables
  • Great verbal and writing skills
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus
