Job Description

Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperational:1. Monitor and maintain clean electrical/electronic devices in a safe environment.2. Safeguard against electrical hazards and prevent any unsafe practices performed.3. Ensure that no temporary connections made by ship/workshop staff are for personal use; no loose wiring, open wiring, and naked lights are present that can jeopardize their safety.4. Ensure that electrical isolation permits are strictly followed.5. Guarantee that proper signage is displayed to prevent any inadvertent start-up of systems.6. Provide application of safe working practices in electrical/electronic on-board ship and maintenance of the same accordingly.7. Check electrical stores and spares supplied and report of any short or substandard supply.8. Maintain the electrical workshop, stores lockers, and electrical spares in a safe, clean, and organized manner.9. Complete all monthly and periodic paperwork related to job accountabilities.10. Ensure checklist and procedures are referred to and utilized in an efficient manner.11. Update records and logs and maintain history for the equipment and machinery.12. Prepare requisition reports of short inventory and missing spare parts as required.Special Skills & Knowledge:? Fit to diagnose, handle, and repair electric and electronic equipment and machinery.? Reporting skills? Should be able to read and interpret working drawing and equipment manuals.? Should be able to communicate, read and understand English; Arabic is preferable
