Job Description

Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational:1. Responsible to operate safely a variety of material-moving equipment according to schedule and instructions from designated team, choosing, setting up & controlling the right gears and appliances to complete each task safely and efficiently as per guidelines and defined processes using standard operating procedures to ensure effective transportation of materials on site. The cargo handling operations includea. Cargo handling of each specific cargo type (dry bulk, containers, multipurpose, RORO, liquid bulk etc.) on vessel / truck as per defined guidelines and processes.b. Operations include vessel & truck loading, unloading, stowage, un-stowage onto/from truck, vessel. Also, trimming of bulk cargo, sorting cargo, stacking, de-stacking in function of storage as well as composing and de-composing of unit loads, etc. Securing ships (mooring / unmooring operations)c. Operations in other non-operational areas as assigned to the gang.2. Perform daily checks on equipment before & end of the shift and report any fault found to immediate superior and maintenance department. Return equipment to base at the end of the shift.3. Maintain visual and radio contact with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.4. Listen & follow instructions of Tool Talk & safety briefings and on the job guidance to complete all required tasks accurately and within assigned deadlines with limited supervision as per designated signal.5. Create and update detailed log of material transportation operations, including information about type of material, movement locations and additional data as required in supporting computer systems.6. Performs other related tasks assigned by the Head Foreman / Senior Foreman / Foreman / Assistant Foreman.HSE Responsibilities7. Ensure that all HSE instructions are fully understood and complied with.8. Must demonstrate total commitment to the company safety policies through participation and proactive involvement.9. Must ensure that all relevant safety procedures and practices are followed during performing operations.10. Ensure HSE Audit recommendation implementation especially relating to road & office safety and asset security.11. Reporting HSE incident, near misses and violation to immediate supervisor or through PDC software as appropriate.12. Responsible to participate in safety meetings and safety drills held on board and ensures operations abide by established/HSE operating procedures and practices and equipment is used within predetermined capacities.
