Essential Duties and Responsibilities:?Troubleshoots and repairs the M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank Family, Bradley Fighting System, Self-Propelled Fire Support Mechanic, and other track vehicles as identified on the density list.?Identifies, maintains, troubleshoots, removes, disassembles, repairs and assembles a variety of equipment and components on the M1Abrams Main Battle Tank Family of Vehicles (FOV), and the Bradley Fighting Vehicle FOV to include laser range finders, fire control systems, sighting systems, elevation control systems, turret drive systems, ballistics control systems, electronic interface systems, and power control panels. This equipment encompasses single and interconnecting assemblies, major components, systems and complete systems undergoing repairs and modifications through several work steps or processes.?Utilizes complex tools, test instruments and a variety of equipment to test item s reliability, suitability, operational capability and serviceability.?Assures conformance with technical publications, specifications, requirements and varied procedural guidance.?Ascertains that electrical characteristics and tolerances of items will integrate with complete systems and/or equipment.?Performs and witnesses individual component sensitivity tests on electronic equipment and systems. Boresights and/or synchronizes weapon, optical instruments and electronic guidance control system.?Installs laser range finder in vehicle; test fires and makes adjustment.?Performs and witnesses alignment of entire systems overall performance on electronic equipment and systems.?Utilizes various types of electrical and electronic meters to test equipment such as Maintenance Support Devices (MSD), signal generators, oscillators, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency amplifiers, and potentiometers.?Sets up and operates complex computer controlled automatic test equipment (ATE) to test and troubleshoot various components and assemblies of electronic equipment such as the Direct Support Electrical Test Systems (DSETS), modules which contain integrated circuits, and printed circuit boards and assemblies.?Uses various automated systems such as but not limited to Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Army War Reserve Deployment System (AWRDS), prepositioned equipment management, parts availability, reporting non-conforming or damaged parts and reporting shop equipment failures.?Technical Practices such as the full operational understanding of the M1 Abrams Tank Turret and M1/2 BFV turret to include Bore Sightings and Installation of software upgrades, and Turret Stop Transverse.?Use of measuring instruments such as torques wrench, ohm meter, gunner quadrants, micrometers, calipers, diagnostics equipment to include DSETS and NGATS?Is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the Hull Equipment assembly, installation, repairs, etc. such as (suspension, power pak, embedded diagnostics, fire suppression system, system hydraulics to include pressure intensifier, 3 base manifolds, High Lift Assembly (HLA), Jettison, operations and testing of the plow assembly.?Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsEducation:?High school diploma or equivalent required.?Previous MOS experience in the 45K, 63H, or 91H series, preferred.Experience:?Minimum of five (5) years experience performing inspections, diagnostics and repairs for the M1/2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, M1A1 Tank Family of Vehicles, M88, M113, M109 Paladin and other track vehicle variants, required.?Previous experience measuring instruments such as torques wrench, ohm meter, gunner quadrants, micrometers, calipers with diagnostics equipment to include DSETS and NGATS, required.?Previous experience utilizing various automated systems such as but not limited to Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) and Army War Reserve Deployment System (AWRDS), required.Specialized Knowledge and Skills:?Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. such as (drawings, schematics, blueprints, computer diagnostics, Statement of work, written or verbal instructions, manuals and or technical manuals) when available.?Must have full operational understanding of the M1 Abrams Tank Turret and M1/2 BFV turret to include Bore Sightings and Installation of software upgrades and Turret Stop Transverse.?Must be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the Hull equipment assembly, installation, and repairs.?Must pay attention to detail in work flow and filing organization activities.?Must have knowledge of GCSS-A system reports, how to correct discrepancies.?Must have thorough knowledge of Army technical publications.Certification & License: NoneWork Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:?Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.?Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.?Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.?Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.Preferred QualificationsN/A
