Job SummaryThe Engineering Technician IV / Electrical Metrology Engineer is the resident expert in his field and, in conjunction with the Kuwait Senior Engineer, provides engineering/consultant services to the Government of Kuwait. Conducts research and studies new equipment to ensure that the latest developments in technique and equipment are included in metrology planning for future acquisition. Assists in the development and implementation of a Metrology Quality Assurance (QA) Program as required.Principal Accountabilities(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)? Assesses requirements and develops new measurement techniques and approaches related to electrical, electronic and microwave measurement areas.? Develops tests and evaluates new calibration methodology as well as performs analysis and evaluation of equipment.? Establishes test and performance criteria and prescribes calibration approaches, tests, equipment and servicing requirements necessary to ensure measurement traceability.? Directs, conducts and evaluates the development of calibration procedures for assigned equipment.? Conducts liaison and coordinates with technical societies and engineering facilities of other countries to remain current with state-of-the-art and new measurement techniques.? Conducts detailed laboratory capability studies to achieve greater support efficiency. Develops laboratory operational, environmental, performance and safety criteria and ensures implementation and maintenance.? Assists in obtaining and maintaining laboratory accreditation.? Performs analysis and evaluation of equipment test and performance requirements and prescribes calibration approaches, test equipment and servicing requirements necessary to assure measurement traceability.? Contacts and coordinates with technical societies and engineering facilities to include National Standards Laboratories of other countries to remain current with state-of-the-art measurement standards and new measurement techniques.? Responsible for laboratory facility and related environmental control development, operation and maintenance.? Coordinate with civilian contractor and military civil engineering organizations on all projects affecting metrology facilities to ensure timely completion.? Conducts liaison and coordinates with technical societies and engineering facilities of other countries to remain current with state-of-the-art for metrology facilities and environmental control systems.? Work with the Mechanical Engineer on all matters associated with Power Production and Facilities.? Perform any other duties as assigned by the DynCorp Program Manager or designated representativeKnowledge & Skills? Must possess experience in using Microsoft Office products to produce monthly reports, charts and Power Point presentations.? Understand and able to calculate measurement uncertainty for laboratory standards and customers equipment.? Be able to establish and maintain a Secret Clearance.Experience & Education? Completed an Associate s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, physics or a related technical field from an accredited college or university and twelve (12) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards. Including qualification requirements D and E. OR? Successful completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration school and have twelve (12) year s work experience in the calibration field. Including qualification requirements D and E. OR? Have eight (8) years of experience in technical oversight, measurement assurance and training responsibilities of calibration and repair technicians, with at least three (3) years within the last five (5) years OR? Completed a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, and ten (12) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards. Including qualification requirements D and E. AND? (D) Have five (5) years of experience in technical oversight and training responsibilities of calibration and repair technicians with three (3) years within the last five (5) years.? (E) Have experience in researching requirements and maintaining calibration laboratory facility and related environmental control systems.Physical Requirements/Working Environment? Some work outside with temperatures reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit.? 80/20 Office & Outside Environments.? Lift Pull of 20lbs, frequent lifting and stooping and standing as needed.Travel? N/A
