About the Job:Consultation-liaison psychiatry, also known as psychosomatic medicine, is an exciting subspecialty of psychiatry that focuses on the care of patients with comorbid psychiatric and general medical conditions. Consultation-liaison psychiatry deals with the understanding and advancement of medical science, education, and the provision of healthcare for medically ill patients.Objectives of this role:Work with other clinicians and staff members to create an environment that empowers patients to pursue healthier livesEvaluate patients and develop treatment plans that fit their needs in accordance with best practicesExplain the evaluation process to patients and/or primary caregivers, and consider input from patients, caregivers, and colleagues when developing treatment plansResponsibilities:Evaluate individuals who are referred for psychiatric assessmentDiagnose individuals based on psychiatric evaluation, develop treatment plans, and provide supportive psychotherapy and psychopharmacology when appropriateProvide crisis intervention and assessmentCollaborate with the on-site nurses to communicate with medical providers outside the organizationCompile documentation in accordance with the organization?s policies and proceduresRequired skills and qualifications:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) degree (or equivalent)One year of postgraduate training in an accredited hospital residency programLicense for the practice of psychiatryRegistration for prescribing controlled substancesExtensive knowledge of psychotherapy and psychopharmacologyExcellent interpersonal and time-management skillsPreferred skills and qualifications:Ability to work effectively with children and adolescentsFlexibility to cover additional work sites and provide aid in crisis situationsAbility to communicate in more than one language Company Profile Established in 2010, SearchPlus main business focus is in Executive Search and Selection.
