Test efficiency of new Chemicals. Enforce and follow HSE rules regarding toxicity, storage and disposal of environmentally harmful and toxic wastes.Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1). Provide technical advice on matters related to chemistry applications in oil fields.. Supervise and perform physical and analysis of water and BS&W analysis for various oil fields to monitor the water breakthrough at producer wells. Identify the water nature ad source predicting adverse effects such as corrositivity, scaling tendency and incompatibility with other waters. Cleanliness of wells from foreign materials which are introduced during drilling and work-over.. Supervise and perform physical and chemical analysis for scales, sediments and corrosion products to identify their possible causes whether natural or due to incompatibility with other chemicals used during operations. Metal analysis of piping and other metals alloys to ensure consistency with the specifications.. Carry out quality control analysis and compatibility studies for chemicals used in oil field production such as corrosion inhibitors, biocides, polyacrylamide gels to assure that they meet the required specifications and efficiency.. Participate in the companys corrosion control by determination of corrosion rate on metals coupons that are mounted at various field locations.. Assess the performance of acid formulae supplied by contractors to optimize additives and check their compatibility with the oil, formation water, completion alloys and reservoir rocks. Check validity of various acid diversion techniques to ensure effectiveness and that they have no damaging effect to the formation.. Prepare analysis files and analytical procedures for running and operation of computerized instruments as well as the calibration and routine maintenance.. Calculate, interpret results and prepare the analysis reports with finding and recommendations to the concerned departments.. Order equipment, chemicals spare parts. Arrange for safety kit and requirements for subordinate personnel and ensure the use of such kit.. Monitor and enforce safety, HSE rules and regulations.Generic AccountabilitiesSupervision. Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.. Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.Budgets. Provide input for preparation of the Department / Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.. Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures. Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Sections work programs in line with Company and International standards.. Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.Performance Management. Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.Innovation and Continuous Improvement. Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes..
