HSE Senior Specialist, Industrial Hygiene (UAE National)JOB PURPOSE:Lead/ participate in the development and verify the implementation of the ADNOC HSE and provide professional advice on Industrial Hygiene technical issues to Occupational Health performance of the company.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Job Specific AccountabilitiesProvide support for developing, tracking and ensuring proper implementation of ADNOC HSE Strategic Objectives in the field of Industrial.Lead the development and review of ADNOC HSE standards related to recognition, evaluation and control of occupational health hazards.Lead in the implementation of industrial hygiene related programs for Group Companies, which include but not limited to: Occupational Health Risk Management, Hearing Conservation Program, Radiation Protection Program, Chemical Management Program including HSE Risk Assessment of Chemicals, Ergonomics Program, Psychosocial/Fatigue Risk Management Program.Provide advice, guidance and recommendations for any Occupational Health Risk assessment studies [For e.g. Project Health, Safety & Environmental Impact for new and existing facilities across ADNOC, evaluation of possible risks of health hazards, determination of adequacy of exposure control measures aimed in protection of worker health and well-being.Analyze trends and potential Occupational Health Hazard for short & long term impact and develop necessary actions to manage potential impacts on OH.Provide professional advice on Group Company technical queries related to industrial hygiene, and appropriate recommendations aimed in mitigating exposure of workers to health hazards.Review Occupational Health Risk Assessment (qualitative or quantitative) related reports from Group Companies to provide recommendation and further implementation of mitigation initiatives.Determine effectiveness of Group Company?s occupational health management system through participation in Health Safety and Environmental Management System audits. Provide support, review and advise on the Industrial Hygiene findings and Corrective Active Plan/Report (CAP/R) of the HSE and OH reviews/ audits/ inspections/ investigations conducted in line with applicable ADNOC HSE Standards ,local and international regulations/ standards.Lead in the development and implementation of industrial hygiene related campaigns, awareness and initiatives programs with Occupational Health Subject Matter Experts to promote a high level of awareness on recognition, evaluation and control of health hazards specific to the operations of Group Company sites and facilities.Lead in the design of appropriate industrial hygiene related training for all employees in collaboration with the Industrial Hygiene Task Force Committee.(E.g., injuries and illnesses) related to exposure to occupational health hazards.Identify causes and provide recommendations to resolve/mitigate areas of concern.Provide appropriate advice on Industrial hygiene monitoring survey plans in the workplace, which include but not limited to: Heat Stress monitoring, Noise and Vibration Surveys, Chemical and biological hazard exposure monitoring, Lighting and indoor air quality surveys, Radiation surveys and Ergonomic/Human Factor studies.Lead in digitalization and standardization of industrial hygiene related data, which include but not limited to: digitalization of evaluation tools for various occupational health hazards, standardization of industrial hygiene related forms and checklists across Group Companies.Manage centralized industrial hygiene related data for Group Companies, which include but not limited to: Occupational Health Risk Assessment data, Chemical Register, Radioactive Material Register, Asbestos Register.Keep updated with Occupational Health related latest UAE Federal laws, regulation and applicable international standards (HAAD, OSHAD, UK-HSE, US OSHA, US NIOSH, AIHA, ACGIH, FANR, etc.)Perform other similar or related, other additional duties as and when required and as assigned by Manager Environment and Occupational Health Department.Generic AccountabilitiesSupervisionPlan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.Train and develop the newly hired/assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective Department objectives.BudgetsProvide input for preparation of the Function / Department/budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver Department objectives.Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.Policies, Systems, Processes & ProceduresImplement approved Function/ Department/ policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.Performance ManagementContribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function Unit/ Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework .Innovation and Continuous ImprovementDesign and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processesIdentify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and SustainabilityComply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC HSE Standards.ReportsProvide inputs and progress reports as requested by the GHSEF Environmental and Occupational Health Manager.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Minimum QualificationBachelor?s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological/Health Sciences, Environmental Health, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering. Masters Degree in Industrial/Occupational Hygiene is preferred.Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills8 years of experience in HSE and Occupational Health & Hygiene function, with 4-5 years in an oil & gas industry and similar industries.Must be proficient in English and have superior communication, presentation, influencing, negotiation and interpersonal skills.Adept in managing and harmonizing conflicting ideas from various subject matter experts and stakeholders, and develop it to a consensus;Can handle multiple tasks and meet short deadlines. Adaptable and flexible in completion of new tasks that may arise or changes in task prioritization;Able to demonstrate professional skills in managing his activities within the HSE Framework.Personable to all levels of the organization and committed to delivering quality outputs.Professional Certifications*Professional certification in good standing attained from any of the following institutions: Certified Industrial Hygienist from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Chartered Occupational Hygienist from the British Occupational Hygiene Society or Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists, Registered Occupational Hygienist from the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists or equivalent.Group Company: ADNOC HQ
