Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Mechanical Engineer (Design) to join our team! In this role you will get to design and planning of potable water, irrigation, storm water and wastewater pumping stations, lift stations, treatment facilities and associated piping and mechanical systems.What Youll Be Doing:

• Design and planning of potable water, irrigation, storm water and wastewater pumping stations, lift stations, treatment facilities and associated piping and mechanical systems.
• Design of piping system and pipelines including the preparation of piping GA drawings, equipment layouts, piping isometric drawings, valve chamber piping drawings, material take-offs, pump selection, pipe selection, pipe sizing, tank selection, tank sizing, wet well sizing, valve selection, etc.
• Development of system curve, performing pump calculations and pump selection in coordination with pump vendors.
• HVAC and Ventilation design of pump stations, treatment plants and associated facilities.
• Fire protection system design of pump stations and associated facilities.
• Design Review of HVAC, Ventilation and Chilled Water Systems.
• Review of Physical Modelling and CFD modelling of wet wells and pump intake design.
• Preparation of Specifications, Technical Data Sheets, Material Requisitions, testing and commissioning procedures, O&M manuals, etc. for various mechanical and piping / pipeline materials as per the project requirements.
• Review and study of Tender submissions, preparation of recommended queries to bidders, preparation of Technical Tender Evaluation Reports for the Clients and preparation of contract documents.
• Prepare cost estimates for Mechanical Equipment in coordination with various mechanical equipment vendors.
• Estimate level of effort, associated costs and submit bids for Engineering and Construction projects.
• Design Review of mechanical / piping design drawings including general piping design, equipment layout, piping isometrics, valve chamber piping, etc. in accordance with relevant projects specification and standard procedures.
• Review of equipment testing and commissioning procedures.
• Review of Operation & maintenance manuals.
• Read and Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
• Review troubleshooting procedures and perform troubleshooting, monitor progress, perform tests, conduct inspections and assist in financial improvements.
• Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate equipment or system malfunctions.

What Required Skills Youll Bring:

• Mechanical graduate Engineer
• minimum 10 years experience in designing of pump stations and major utility buildings related to infrastructure works (out of which 7 years in UAE)
• Preferred ADDC/ADWEA/TRANSCO/ADM projects design experiences

What Desired Skills Youll Bring:

• Pipe sizing and hydraulic calculation softwares,
• HVAC calculations, Revit model review experience.
• Wet well CFD modeling review experience.
• GCC experience preferred
