SynopsisWe are proud to have established our high-profile Etihad Airways Medical Centre facilities in 2004, to serve employees and dependents of Etihad Airways and became the first aeromedical center awarded by GCAA in the UAE. Our aim is to be the leader in airline medical services. We focus on employee wellbeing by offering our staff a wide range of medical services and an expert team of professional healthcare workers who are dedicated to providing quality care and personal attention, as well as service our guests through Etihad Airways inflight services. We have an exciting opportunity to join Etihad Airways as a Senior Aero-Medical Expert. In this role you will greatly impact our Crew and Pilot workforce by providing best in class, specialised medical expertise to ensure best service to this community. Accountabilities

  • Responsible in carrying out aviation medical examinations in accordance with GCAA regulations and perform medical evaluations or issue medical certificates that are authorized by the GCAA as stated in the privileges and scope of Senior Aero-Medical Expert designation certificate.
  • Perform initial medical examination for classes authorized by GCAA
  • As the Senior Aero-Medical Expert you may be delegated the task of reinstatement of medical certificate for all classes of medical applications. You will only review the requests and recommend the reinstatement, your role is not to override other Aero Medical experts responsibilities in the examination and reinstatement recommendation.
  • Preside in conducting aeromedical board evaluations as required by GCAA
  • Participate in clearing Passenger fitness to fly MEDA cases
  • Expected to take part in Occupational Medicine roles and responsibilities as operationally required
  • Provide expertise in Emergency Medical Kits for cabin use as required by the aviation authority.
  • Engage and review certain programs like Psychoactive Substance Management Program and Communicable Disease Management Program as well crew awareness and educationprograms
Education & Experience
  • Be fully qualified and licensed for the practice of medicine and hold a Certificate of Completion of specialist training with at least 10 years of experience in General Medicine or Specialist qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Aeromedical Examiner3 and have adequate knowledge and skills necessary for examination and assessment for all aviation medical classes.
  • A Post Graduate Diploma or Masters degree in Aviation or Aerospace Medicine or have undertaken a training course in aviation medicine, acceptable to the GCAA
