Rigging Supervisor

Job Description

A.Purpose and Scope?To ensure that rigging activities are carried out in accordance with laid down procedures, plans and applicable regulatory requirements in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.B.Responsibilities and Duties?Co-ordinate with the Engineering team in the preparation of Lifting Studies and Rigging plans to ensure conformance with best safe working practices.?Maintain inspection and certification registers for Lifting equipment and Rigging gears.?Control issue and receipt of lifting equipment and gears to maintain traceability of each item.?Manage and supervise a multi-disciplinary workforce comprising of Riggers, Scaffolders, Crane and Equipment operators to ensure maximum productivity and safety during operations.?Liaise with maintenance department and third party certification bodies on an ongoing basis for timely maintenance and certification of lifting equipment and gears to ensure legal compliance and to minimize delays due to equipment downtime. ?Ensure productive use of material and maximize utilization of equipment across a multi project environment in the fabrication yard.?Ensure compliance with requirements of company HSE management system, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and applicable legal requirements for all rigging or lifting activities.?Assess list of lifting equipment, rigging gears, tools etc. and forecast need for procurement of items in advance to ensure continuity of operation.?Provide best technical solutions to Production team for rigging/lifting.?Guide Rigging Supervisors for day to day rigging and lifting operations.?Train riggers and scaffolders on safe operation of equipment, safety procedures and company policies.?Ensure that all critical lifts for a month are identified in advance and lifting plans, procedures etc are available before start of such lifting operations.?Help in interpretation of specifications, lifting plans and drawings.?Assign work to riggers and scaffolders based on material or worker requirement of specific jobs.?Prepare and re ise rigging nd lifting procedures.?Carry out inspection of lifting equipment and gears for ensuring compliance to statutory and company standards.?Recommend improvements to departmental policy and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of Production function, so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost effective service to customers.?Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSE procedures and controls across Production function to guarantee employee safety, health, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.B.1. QHSE Responsibilities?Contribute towards the achievement of QHSE objectives and ensure that activities are managed in accordance to QHSE policy.?Take accountability for the effectiveness of the QHSE management system of your area of work.?Integrate QHSE management system requirements into the processes required for managing your area of work.?Communicate the importance of effective QHSE management and of conforming to the QHSE requirements to all within your department.?Promote the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking and ensure that the QHSE management system achieves its intended results for your area of work.?Support other leaders and people to contribute to the effectiveness of the QHSE management system.?Promote continual improvement of QHSE management system and enhancement of customer satisfaction.?Recommend improvements to departmental policy and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of Production function, so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost effective service to customers.?Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSE procedures and controls across Production function to guarantee employee safety, health, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.?Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
