Job Description

Job purpose:? Ensuring safe, efficient and reliable Plant operations to prevent downtime and achieve Plant production targets according to procedures, standards, specifications; supervising shift Operations staff. Healthy and Safety:? Job Holder works at Shams solar power Plant in a controlled hazardous environment.Work Levels and Risks:? Work Level 3: the daily tasks performed represent risks of accidents of medium kind (blow, fall?) which are controlled by means of procedures, safety devices and HSSE Team supervision.Exposure to Risks:? Traffic/vehicles accidents.? Risks inherent to the job of Operations while performing on-site inspections and operations activities.Main Activities:During Plant pre start-up phase: 1. Participate in Plant commissioning activities, raise punch list items and warranty claims as appropriate. Attend training programme sessions. Learn HSSEQ policies and procedures. Review vendors? operating manuals. Draft operating procedures necessary for Plant operations and participate in CMMS development and implementation.During Plant operational phase:2. Enforce HSSE and Quality policies and procedures, and ensure that all HSE measures and precautions are strictly considered and taken care of during the execution of operations activities to avoid any activity which might lead to Health Safety and Environment incidents.3. Validate Work Permit for each work performed in the Plant as required by HSSE procedures. 4. Maintains efficient and reliable Operations in order to avoid Plant downtime and to meet Plant production targets. Ensure daily instructions are fully understood and well applied.5. Respond to any emergency situation such as Plant trip, accident or incident and take necessary actions to bring back Plant to a normal situation and to avoid any other reoccurrence in the future.6. Perform frequent Plant field inspection tours to ensure that field activities are performed as per TASEOM?s expectations and that all machineries are in sound operating conditions.7. Manage subordinates, directly guide, supervise and assume responsibility for the performance of the Operations shift personnel reporting to the role. Follow-up shift staff?s leave/absence schedule to ensure that manpower is always available for the sake of Plant Operations. 8. Ensure individuals? development, especially UAE Nationals.9. Validate that work requests issued by Operators in CMMS are time-wise and quality-wise acceptable.10. Validate the quality of maintenance works executed for Operations in the Plant.11. Participate in scheduling Maintenance works and first level maintenance activities done by Operators. 12. Attempt all possible actions of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high Plant availability.13. Participate in trouble-shooting investigations, identify operations trends, perform root causes analysis and recommend corrective actions to support Plant Operations continuous improvement.14. Participate in Plant performance and availability improvement plans or Operations and Maintenance cost reduction plans by highlighting defects in the Plant design or installation.15. Submits necessary reports and recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding equipment status and/or problems. Keep tracking of all Operations? historical records.16. Assist in preparing Operations budget.17. Participate in Plant scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds.18. Perform other related duties as assigned by Operations Manager. 5. JOB CONTEXT:? Job Holder works in the Operations Department under supervision of the Operations Manager.? Job Holder works on an 8 hour triple shift system and as per Operations Department duty roster.? Job Holder works equally indoor and outdoor.? Plant Main Equipment are :Solar collectors assemblies hydraulically operated, heat transport fluid circulating system, steam generator, heat exchangers, fuel gas station, dual fuel boilers,100 MW steam turbine and auxiliaries,100 MW alternator, air cooled condenser, emergency diesel generators, coolers, air compressors and auxiliaries, pumps, electrical motors, water and oil storage tanks, agitators, cranes, cars and trucks, HVAC, chillers, chemical dosing units, demineralised and potable water treatment plant with reverse osmosis unit, waste water treatment plant, chemical laboratory, HV transformers, MV switchgear, 220 KV interconnection line, frequency converters, fire & gas system, fire fighting system, DCS system, CCTV, lighting apparatus, metering stations, meteorological station, gas chromatographs, SCADA, sun irradiance measuring device, emissions monitoring devices, batteries and UPS, telecommunication system, computers network, building facilities, fences and roads.
