Job purpose:? Ensuring quality and cost effective rotating and static Mechanical equipment are available and reliable by applying the best, safest, sustainable and timely Maintenance practices in order to achieve the Plant operational targets.? Ensuring Solar Field mirrors are cleaned in a reliable way according to operating strategy and O&M proceduresScope? Lead, supervise and coordinate a team of direct hire and contract Mechanical technicians focusing on efficient and effective compliance with the daily routine, scheduled predictive and forced outage/breakdown maintenance plans to ensure that plant Mechanical equipment are properly maintained as per procedures documented in the CMMS and OEM?s requirements.? Supervise routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and fabrication works for all mechanical equipment. Ensure Maintenance activities are carried out according to Shams O&M procedures, standards, specifications, manufacturer?s recommendations and relevant contract terHealthy and Safety:? Job Holder works at solar power plant in a controlled potentially hazardous environment.Risks:? The daily work tasks performed represent risks that could lead to serious accidents which are controlled by means of procedures, PPE (Personal protective Equipment), safety devices and HSSE Team supervision.Main Activities:During plant pre start-up phase: 1. Participate in plant commissioning activities, raise mechanical punch list items and warranty claims as appropriate. Attend training programme sessions. Learn, support and assist in the continuous improvement of HSSEQ policies and procedures. Review vendors? documents, maintenance manuals and spare parts lists. Draft Mechanical Maintenance procedures necessary for Plant operations and participate in CMMS development and implementation.During Plant operational phase:2. Enforce Shams O&M HSSE and Quality policies and procedures, and ensure that all HSSE measures and precautions are strictly considered and taken care of during the execution of Maintenance activities to avoid any activity which might lead to Health Safety and Environment incidents / non-conformance.3. Manage subordinates and Mechanical contractors, directly guide, supervise and assume responsibility for the performance of the direct report Mechanical Maintenance personnel. 4. Ensure individuals? development, especially UAE Nationals.5. Manage, Raise, Review Work Permit for each job performed by Mechanical and Mirror cleaning team as required by Shams O&M procedures. 6. Perform frequent on-site inspections to ensure proper work execution and check on direct hired and contracted technicians activities.7. Supervise and coordinate Mechanical day to-day Maintenance activities, rectify defects as appropriate, manage emergency repairs and trouble-shooting activities to immediately determine the cause of failures and identify how to prevent failures in the future. 8. Supervise Mechanical workshop and staff activities regarding mechanical maintenance staff and Contractors for Maintenance work execution. Coordinate all mechanical maintenance work with other Shams O&M departments.9. Supervise Mirror Cleaning activities in cooperation with other Shams O&M Departments.10. Manage and coordinate preparation of Mechanical Maintenance activities with the plant Planner, ensure materials required for job performance are available in correct quantity and quality, ensure Maintenance plans are carried out on time and that tasks performed are properly recorded in CMMS. 11. Participate in Plant performance and availability improvement and Operations and Maintenance cost reduction plans by highlighting defects/issues in the plant design or installation. Propose implementation and modification plans to Mechanical equipment. 12. Manage department to reduce equipment downtime and ensure high plant availability. Identify operating trends, provide analysis of root causes and recommend implementation corrective action plans to support continuous improvement of the Plant operations.13. Assist in preparing Maintenance budget, work cost estimates, purchase orders and contracts for Mechanical Maintenance and Mirror Cleaning activities in coordination with management and personnel in charge. 14. Monitor Mechanical Maintenance and Mirror Cleaning activities cost, and take necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance with approved plans and budgets. 15. Ensure staff and Contractors have all needed resources and tools to properly and safely conduct Mechanical Maintenance activities effectively and according to the appropriate contract terms and conditions.16. Evaluate pertinent reports related to cost and progress of Mechanical Maintenance activities and transmit analysis to Maintenance Manager, issue reports as required for Maintenance Department.17. Recommend new Maintenance plans, procedures and schedules for Mechanical equipment. 18. Review Mechanical equipments spare parts lists and recommend parts inventory and stock levels. 19. Participate in plant scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds.20. In the event of an emergency the job holder will participate in the emergency (response) team as per his role in the emergency response plan, which may include provision of logistic support (such as driving of vehicles, equipment and hose delivery / supply?) to the emergency response team. He will participate in emergency drills and if necessary will be trained in first aid and firefighting techniques.21. Perform other related duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.JOB CONTEXT:?
