Land Surveyor

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Land Surveyor to join our team! In this role you will get to work in the field performing various surveying activities in infrastructure, roads projects. He shall be familiar with the plans, specifications, and construction methods for the phases of the work to which he has been assigned.What Youll Be Doing:

• Plans, organizes, and directs work in surveying earths surface to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, or other purposes:
• Locate in the field: In the field, locate rights-of-way, topographic features, property lines, corners and boundaries. Coordinate Region control surveys.
• Document management system: Search for, analyze, and arrange to obtain historical survey records and maps and develop methodologies to incorporate these records into a document management system.
• Field survey maps: Draft, check, file and distribute maps prepared that depict the results ofthe field surveys.
• Compute & plat survey data: Participate in computation and platting of survey data.
• Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
• Interface with client and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
• Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
• Check setting-out and levels. Check services locations and ensure their protection.
• Prepare sketches to support the field work. Maintain all the survey information (field books, sketches and calculations).
• Measure work done when required.
• Observe site safety procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings.
• Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer, and project Safety Representative.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills Youll Bring:

• BSc. Surveying graduate or acceptable diploma in surveying
• Minimum of (5) year of experience in land surveying and setting out for similar works (bachelors degree) or (8) years of experience in land surveying and setting out of similar works (Diploma holder).
• Knowledge of surveying procedures and instruments, engineering formulas.
• Knowledge of drafting, arithmetic, geometry, calculus and engineering formulas, CADD drawings and maps.
• Experience in the construction of roads, infrastructure and landscaping projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.
• Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices.
• Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project.
• Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed. Coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with project.
• Should have a driving license and available in UAE.
