Job Purpose:Designs interior spaces in new and renovated buildings; meets functional and aesthetic goals; researches and purchases furnishings and fittings; and establishes corporate or individual client baseJob Responsibilities:Designs interior spaces, including permanent architectural details and temporary elementsSketch preliminary design plans, including electrical layoutsStrong graphics and visualization skills to communicate design ideasCreates idea boards to communicate design concepts to clientsAssesses and meets client requirements through regular meetings and conferencesProduces sketches, drawings, and floor plans to illustrate concepts and finished projects using computer-aided design programs ArchiCAD AutoCAD, 3Dmax, SketchUp, Lumion 3D, Photoshop, V Ray and hand-drawing skills.Selects design strategies and color palettes to create cohesive and aesthetically pleasing environmentsEnhances and improves interior spaces? functionality by modifying architectural elements and arranging furnishings, artwork, and decorCreates project budgets, including materials and labour. Negotiates pricing for materials and labourSpecify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixturesMust have experienced in preparing BOQ and CostingEstablishes project timelines and coordinates work activity, vendor involvement, and outside contractors as necessaryMaintains relationships with vendors and outside contractors, and hires out work as necessaryParticipates in regular networking opportunities and actively develops a client basePerforms research and maintains a working knowledge of trends and new developments in the interior design and architecture worldsAdheres to national and local building and safety codes with every design elementReads and interprets blueprintsWorks closely with various colleagues, including architects, artists, contractors, painters, upholsterers, and building inspectorsManaging/adhering to any communication/task given by the Chairman apart from BAU (Business as usual) activities
