Job DescriptionEnsure that the hotel is compliant with Environmental Health and Safety Management requirements at all times. Ensuring that the municipality local order/regulations/guidelines are complied with.Maintaining and controlling all the fire fighting equipment in the hotel and accommodation premises. Responsible to check and update regularly.Inspection of all work places, the promotion of the safe conduct of work, hazard identification techniques and communication of corrective measures to management team.Issuance of Hot/Cold work permits for all non routine works.In coordination with the Hotel Nurse, maintaining first aid facilities, personal protective equipment as demanded by the nature of work.Ensure that purchasing department maintain proper records with all the suppliers and Materials Safety Data Sheet is being provided for chemicals and hazardous items.Check that all electrical equipment (sockets, plugs, a/c units, fridges, etc.) are in working order. Report all malfunctioning of machineries or other equipment to respective Section Heads in writing.Ensure that all electrical equipment and facilities are properly wired and insulated so no staff or guest is at risk of electrocution or physically harm.Ensure that all precautionary health and safety measures are taken at the swimming pool area, the gymnasium, steam room, and plunge pool and no human life is at risk at anytime.Investigating all incidents/accidents reporting as well as accident prevention and maintaining records.Training of all associates and ensuring that they are issued with adequate instruction and creating awareness of safe work practice among them. Ensure that all associates are aware of their responsibilities in case of fire and emergency situations.In close coordination with Chief Engineer, conduct fire drills to all associates of the hotel. Responsible to organize suitable training to all fire fighters of the hotel.Maintain the record for all chemicals/dangerous goods used/stored at the premises, their Materials safety data sheets and advice management/staff of safe handling/transport and storage practices.Together with Training Manager, conducts Health and Safety audits on a regular basis and advice management for necessary actions.Along with Training Manager and Chief Engineer, liaise with all EHMS members on a regular basis to ensure that all local health and safety requirements are met.To perform other related responsibilities as required by the management.Provide overall assistance to HR/Training as required.
