Roles & ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesCulinary Leadership:Lead and supervise the culinary team in a specific section of the kitchen.Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the assigned section.Recipe Development:Contribute to the development and refinement of recipes, taking into consideration taste, presentation, and portion sizes.Collaborate with the head chef on menu planning and innovation.Quality Control:Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.Conduct regular taste tests and make adjustments as needed.Station Management:Manage and organize the kitchen station, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely production.Oversee the work of Demi Chefs and Commis assigned to the section.Training and Mentoring:Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on culinary techniques and station responsibilities.Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Collaboration:Collaborate with other chefs, cooks, and support staff to coordinate overall kitchen operations.Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless service delivery.Culinary Creativity:Contribute creative ideas for specials, promotions, and menu enhancements.Stay informed about culinary trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the menu.Cleaning and Maintenance:Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen, including the assigned station.Ensure compliance with sanitation and hygiene standards.Inventory Management:Manage inventory for the assigned section, including ordering and stock rotation.Notify the head chef of any inventory shortages or quality issues.Efficiency:Work efficiently to meet service deadlines and maintain a smooth flow of food production.Coordinate with other sections to ensure timely delivery of complete dishes.Adaptability:Adapt to changing menu requirements and culinary techniques.Assist in various kitchen tasks as needed and directed by senior chefs.Desired Candidate ProfileEducation:ú High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality or a related field is a plus.Training/Experience:ú Proven experience in a senior culinary role, preferably as a Chef de Partie or similar.ú Strong leadership and team management skills.ú Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.ú Creative thinking and a passion for culinary innovation.ú Effective communication and interpersonal skills.ú Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.ú Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Safety and SecurityNotify your manager/supervisor immediately in the event of work-related incidents or any other injuries.Discern and rectify hazardous job methods or circumstances and/or relay them to management and security/safety staff.Abide by the safety and security directives and processes of the organization and department to guarantee a spotless, secure, and protected atmosphere.Adhere to property-specific procedures when confronted with critical situations (for instance, evacuations, medical crises, natural calamities).Preserve vigilance concerning unwanted individuals present on property premises.Observe the policies and procedures for the secure use and storage of gear, machinery, and tools.Utilize the correct gear, and apply appropriate lifting techniques when needed to prevent harm.Successfully accomplish relevant safety education and gain certifications for executing work.
