Job Description

The opportunityProject: This is an opportunity to be involved in the delivery of major sports stadia and associated projects in Saudi Arabia. Mace is currently bidding for this programme which will require high-calibre and experienced people to lead teams throughout each phase of the project. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the daily activities of the cost control discipline, implementing technical standards and procedures, and overseeing the work of project cost engineers.
• Setting up, implementing, and maintaining cost control structure, cost coding, and cost control system, implementing processes, procedures, standards, and templates to maintain a consistent approach for reporting across the portfolio of projects.
• Performing and ensuring an effective cost control and reporting function for ongoing projects by working with the project managers and the site cost control team to review cost reports for accuracy and timeliness.
• Converting cost estimates into control budgets, and assigning control accounts, by working and coordinating with contract, procurement, and construction departments.
• Communicating with contractors regarding project scope, cost, risks, valuations of work-in-progress reviews etc.
• Compiling and evaluating data on all factors that influence costs, such as material, labour, equipment, and subcontracts.
• Providing periodical cash flow forecasts and monthly updates for projects incorporating progress updates, cost under or overrun and approved scope changes.
• Preparing monthly cost reports to control and monitor project total expenditures and ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.
• Reviewing second-party cost reports, evaluating deviations, reviewing project forecasts, and advising on corrective actions.
• Communicating independently with senior management to review, audit and validate cost-to-complete forecasts using project cost reports.
• Managing cost control team, providing direction, guidance, training, and support in performing daily functions.
• Attending in-house cost control review meetings with the project manager/project controls manager and presenting/answering questions related to the project cost.
• Attending either project progress as well as cost status review meetings with the client and presenting/answering questions related to the project cost or keeping himself fully informed through the minutes of meeting.
• Working in conjunction with all department heads to ensure maximum profitability.
