Job Description

Overview

  • Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or designated Supervisor, performs various routineduties pertaining to Consolidated Tool Kits (CTKs), tools, and test equipment. Issues and controls allsupport tools, equipment, and materiel. Responsible for the accountability and status of all equipmentassigned to the Tool Room. Receives, issues and keeps records of tools, equipment and other materials used by the Program. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all tools assigned within the Tool Rooms. Evaluates the condition of all tools, and makes the determination as to whether they are safetycompliant or need to be removed from service. Provides basic maintenance to tools, and performsminor repairs to tools deemed to be repairable. Prevents minor losses through the safeguarding ofrepair tools and equipment valued at various dollar amounts. Performs tasks with minimumsupervision.
Responsibilities
  • Issues, inventories, and controls all tools, test equipment, technical data, and consolidated tool kits.
  • Stores, issues, and controls hazardous materials.
  • Schedules, transports, returns test equipment for calibration, and performs user maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Controls, issues, and inventories assigned Tool Room equipment.
  • Receives, maintains, and issues hand tools, technical orders, bench stock, and equipment
  • Administers the Consolidated Tool Kit (CTK)Program to include marking and inspecting tools and toolboxes, controls replacement tools, and maintains tool inventories
  • Must maintain TMDE and Load Test certificates on file.
  • Responsible for the Measurement Device Control Program, ensuring tools and equipment are calibrated and ready for use.
  • Responsible for implementing the Tool Control Program, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored, identified, and tracked.
  • Inspects all areas of tool and part storage for accurate markings, inventories, and cleanliness.
  • Regularly inspects and reports broken tools and/or parts.
  • Trains new staff regarding tool and parts control.
  • Responsible for all lost/broken tool reports and the ordering of replacement tools.
  • Determines availability of items (from stock or to be ordered) and may suggest substitutes when necessary.
  • Inspects, etches, and documents all new tools entering the facility.
  • Conducts receiving inspection on all parts and materials entering facility.
  • Documents all parts and materiel entering facility.
  • Implements the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
  • Performs other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience
    • High School/GED
  • Skills:
    • Must have working knowledge of common hand and special tools.
    • Possesses in-depth knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) and Class IX Supply operations.
    • Must have effective communication and organizational skills.
    • Must be able to work with people of diverse background.
    • Possesses good Customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be knowledgeable of/possesses the ability to identify the Military rank structure.
    • Must have expert knowledge of technical and commercial manuals for operations, servicing, and
    • repair so that the correct procedures are used on the assigned equipment.
    • Must be willing and able to work with job required hazardous materials.
    • Must have full knowledge of management and usage of TMDE.
    • Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to maintenance services, repairs, classification, etc.
    • Must be able to function effectively with little to no guidance.
    • Must have basic computer skills.
