Finance Officer

Job Description

Employment: Full Time The Finance Officer will be responsible for the Groups Fixed Assets function. He or she will also assist the Finance Director in managing and monitoring the treasury function of the group.Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following):Fixed Assets:Record newly acquired fixed assets in the accounting system and those disposed after ensuring that necessary procedures have been followed in line with the groups governance modelTrack Groups fixed asset spending in relation to its capex budget, as well as DOA authorizations.Allocate tag numbers to fixed assets to effectively track them from time to timeTrack, compile, and record project costs in fixed asset accountsPerform reconciliation of fixed asset sub-ledger balance with the general ledger balancePerform depreciation calculation for all fixed assetsFind out fixed assets obsolescence potentialRecommend fixed assets that should be disposed-off to the managementPerform fixed asset related analyses as per the management requestRecommend any updates to accounting policies affecting fixed assetsCreate fixed asset related audit schedules and collaborate with auditors on their assignmentsAssist in carrying out fixed assets valuation for insurance purposePartner and collaborate with internal stakeholders (Operations, IT, Projects, etc.) to resolve issues.Assist in implementing and smooth running of fixed assets accounting and reporting systems.Treasury and other activitiesAssist in opening, operating and closing of group bank accountsAssist in updating bank mandate for online bankingMonitor the group banking facilities (Loans, Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, etc.) and support its requirementsReview the interest credit, interest expense and bank charges on regular basisReview bank reconciliations of all bank accountsAssist in placement of fixed depositsSupport cash forecasting processLiaise with banks relationship managers to resolve banking related issuesPerform any other task or project assigned from time to timeKey Performance Indicators:Meeting all applicable deadlinesLead time in delivering reportsQuality, relevance and accuracy of reports/fixed assets register/analysisCompetencies:Excellent attention to detailBusiness partner and customer focusResults drivenProactive and forward thinkingAbility to work under pressure and prioritize effectively within a changing and fast-paced commercial environment.Excellent communicator at all level of the organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishHigh degree of autonomy and integrityStrong ability to apply several accounting and reporting systemsA fun, positive and dynamic attitude REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge / Qualifications / ExperienceDegree in Accounting and/or Finance5+ years of relevant experience with the Finance department of a large corporationMedia and/or leisure & entertainment experience preferredStrong systems exposure and ERP system knowledge (Oracle preferred)Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointUAE resident preferred
