What you will be doing:Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Participate in dishwashing, garbage removal, silver polishing, pot washing or any other stewarding area as necessary in accordance with department needs (based on staffing or business levels!)
• Ensure a safe and productive operation.
• Assure compliance with Ajman Health Department standards.
• Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen, storerooms, hallways, loading dock, Kitchen and Service equipment.
• Must assist in the training of all stewarding duties.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the stewarding communication board and communicate to colleagues when required
• Assist in maintaining that all colleagues are following the proper grooming standards
• Ensuring proper communication/handover is done between shifts and between leaders using logbooks, emails to ensure smooth operations.
• Check Banquet Event Orders(BEO) / Restaurant Event Orders (REO) ? see what setups are needed to be done on shifts for banquets and restaurants
• At the start of the shift ? do a complete walkthrough of stewarding areas to observe the status of all areas
• Throughout the shift ? continuously walk through all areas to ensure all outlets are replenished with cleaning supplies, Hygiene supplies and service equipment.
• Assist in re-assigning colleagues during shifts to areas of need.
• Being responsible for answering Stewarding Phone and assisting all operations with requirements.
• Assist in controlling stocks for daily use in the department (cleaning products, mop heads, etc).
• Assist in controlling breakage and wastage
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchens and Hear of the House (HOH) areas as well as ensuring all maintenance needs are looked after.
• Ensure all paper towel dispensers are full at all times throughout the shift.
• Conduct shift briefing when required.
• Perform daily checks on staffing level, quality control, maintenance and Cleanliness
• Maintain regular attendance at department and operations meetings
• Responsible for controlling and monitoring all HACCP related matters

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous experience in a Stewarding department preferred
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications preferred
• University/College degree in a related discipline is an asset
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
