Job Description

This is a business development role in our High Risks Managed Services Service Line (HRMS), requiring extensive and advanced bid/proposal management, commercial, and project management skills to:

  • Oversee, manage, mentor and develop the HRMS Bid team; represent the team during HRMS management meetings and/or other Group meetings and events.
  • Manage all elements of proposals / bids by developing and submitting high-quality responses to client opportunities for strategic or major projects.
  • Work on all aspects of the bid process from opportunity qualification through to contract award; engaging with a variety of stakeholders and dealing with multiple projects.
Role tasks and responsibilities
  • Take a lead role in managing strategic and major opportunities in the Control Risks HRMS regions.
  • Manage the full bid process in accordance with APMP standards (or basic project management principles), from the moment the tender opportunity is received to the timely submission of the proposal until contract award stage.
  • Assist in driving the business qualification process of potential opportunities and assess the viability of each opportunity with its owner.
  • Lead, mentor and motivate the HRMS bid team with authority and respect.
  • Add innovation to the bid process; mentor junior bid team member(s) providing guidance on ways to improve bid work, feedback on project-specific performance, and overseeing inputs, content and work quality.
  • Oversee bid reports to ensure the opportunities are recorded, the workload capacity is assessed appropriately and determine the bid team?s performance through the win/loss or capture rate.
  • Work with relevant HRMS colleagues globally to assist with informal or ad hoc proposal preparation.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders across all regional offices and functions to ensure an efficient utilisation of resources.
  • Ensure relevant sign-off/approval has been obtained as part of the bid process.
  • Produce and write new bid content and documentation in the Control Risks format and branding.
  • Act as the document owner for proposals, submissions and presentations. Review all content to ensure compliance to the tender instructions and bid quality standards (editing format, grammar, spelling or factual errors).
  • Oversee the administration of the knowledge library, ensuring data is updated, old data is archived and information is stored, categorised and secured; observe strict confidentiality for sensitive data.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Finance Director HRMS.
