QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree and excellent academic record required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years or more of professional experience
  • Ability to act as a Professional Peer and thought partner to Senior Leadership
  • Strong desire to experiment and innovate; strong problem-solving and project management skills to bring structure and to thrive in moments of ambiguity

WHO YOULL WORK WITHYou will be based in North America, Europe, or the Middle East, and the scope of your role will be global. You will join the Innovate team and work closely with your Innovate teammates, Director of Strategy & Innovation and Practice Coordinator. Beyond the Innovate team, you will work with colleagues in our other three practice teams -- Architect (Product), Activate (Client), and Energize (People). You will partner with a truly passionate group of partners and senior partners, including the global and regional leaders, working closely as a Professional Peer with leaders aligned to your initiatives. You will also tap into and collaborate with colleagues in other practices and adjacent functions firmwide.You will be a key member of a tightknit team that is scaling up the Real Estate Special Initiative. You will join the ?Innovate? team, working closely with practice leaders and with your Innovate team members. You will lead us globally across a range of mission-critical innovation and operations areas including measurement and reporting, where you will shape & drive our efforts to explicitly measure and tell the story of our practice?s contribution to Sustainable and Inclusive Growth (SIG).McKinsey?s Real Estate Practice partners with the world?s leading organizations who are the primary occupiers and users of space, and with the institutions that invest in, develop, service and manage real estate. With proprietary technology, global scale, and local expertise, we are uniquely equipped to embolden clients to embrace disruption, pioneer innovation, and shape a new future for themselves and for the industry.WHAT YOULL DOYou will lead us globally in the critical areas of measurement and reporting.This will include measuring and articulating our progress against our plan, in terms of our impact, our numbers etc., in the right forums globally and with each of our regional leaders. You will spearhead our firm-leading efforts to explicitly measure and tell the story of our practice?s contribution to Sustainable & Inclusive Growth, which is the hallmark of our strategy and must be explicitly measured to further our strategic distance, strengthen our value proposition, and excite our people. You will design, pilot and prove methods for measuring our SIG impact ? prospectively in every engagement we propose on, and in a retrospective ?balance sheet? that tracks our impact against our high aspirations across levels (team, CST, practice).In addition, the Innovation team will be responsible for all elements of practice management and operations not covered by the other three practice teams. This will evolve over time and initially is likely to include (1) convening leadership meetings and community gatherings, (2) headcount & budgeting, and (3) practice reporting and Performance & Health Dialogues with firm leadership. You will work with your Innovate teammates to allocate and jointly cover these responsibilities, and we as a team will seek to shape portfolios for each team member that are personally exciting and professionally developmental.The Innovate team will lead our practice in designing, piloting and proving a new, agile operating model that sets a higher standard for what is possible in our firm on purpose, speed, boundary-less collaboration, broad-based implementation of initiatives, and people leadership. We will do this by piloting new ways of working and by raising the bar on measuring what matters ? most notably our SIG impact and our progress toward our bold aspirations. We will take these innovations into the firm and help embed them into the way we work on teams, in CSTs, and as a practice.
