Job Description

Maintain accurate records of all medical supplies and equipment in the hospital.Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and address issues promptly.Utilize inventory management software/systems to ensure tracking and managing inventories effectively.Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of medical supplies and equipment.Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to obtain competitive pricing and favourable terms.Collaborate with various departments to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the hospital storeroom(s).Develop and implement efficient storage solutions to optimize space utilization.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous materials.Train and supervise replacement store personnel to maintain high standards of performance.Prepare reports on inventory levels, usage patterns, and procurement activities.Maintain accurate records of receipts, transfers, and disposals of medical supplies and equipment.Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in inventory management practices.Monitor product quality and expiration dates to prevent the use of expired or defective items.Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.Coordinate recalls and returns of faulty or recalled products as necessary.Consistently be updated and ensure adherence to all local norms and regulations including but not limited DHA and JCI.Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in inventory management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software/systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality standards.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
