Support a skilled and engaged team as Stewarding Supervisor, where your care and inspection of all flatware, tableware and kitchen equipment will ensure a superior standard.Hotel Overview: Ideally situated on the Arabian Gulf in Ajman, UAE, the Fairmont Ajman has opened in May 2015. The hotel is in close proximity to both the Sharjah and Dubai airports. The hotel features 252 guestrooms and suites, including two luxurious penthouse offerings, a multitude of dining options and fitness facilities. The beachfront location will offer guests a wide range of leisure activities including water sports and diving as well as access to shopping and cultural excursions. Event planners can take advantage of 2,000 square meters of indoor function space as well as outdoor facilities.Summary of Responsibilities:Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Supervise the Stewards ensuring high standardsSupport the Team Members in training and developmentCoordinate the daily pot-wash and dish wash responsibilitiesEnsure Back of House areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards and cleaning schedules are followed and completedObserve Health, Hygiene and Safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances and comply with all aspects of Health and Safety requirementsReport faults, misused or damaged equipment issues to the Managers, Executive Chef, and/or Chief EngineeringEnsure the correct PPE is in place and guidelines are adhered toEnsure machinery is operated properly, efficiently, safely and in accordance with the hotels Health and Safety ManualAssist in the location, movement and storage of operational equipmentAssist in the stock take of equipment and other items as requiredEnsure team members adhere to all Health and Safety and Hygiene RegulationsCarry out any other reasonable task set by the Hotels Management REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications:Previous experience in a Stewarding department preferredStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesComputer literate in Microsoft Window applications preferredUniversity/College degree in a related discipline an assetHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to work cohesively as part of a teamAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsVisa REQUIREMENTS: Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Ajman.
