Job Description

Employment: Full Time Support the school in managing all health related issues and in maintaining appropriate systems that fulfill DHA/HAAD compliance requirementsDeal with students health issues including administering drugs, vaccines and other appropriate treatmentsCheck on lunch boxes and the food served in the school canteen to support the schools agenda on maintaining a healthy living environment; as well as undertaking healthy eating talks with studentsSupport Health and Safety in school by liaising with Facilities Manager on regular checksManage all issues with DHA/HAAD including compliance, approvals and statisticsMake sure all First Aid Kits are appropriately maintainedUndertake School Medicals with specific year groupsCommunicating with Parents regarding health and safety issuesAdminister vaccinations in the school (DHA/HAAD approved only)Communicate and liaise with Childrens Health department at the DHA/HAADSupport, manage and caring for children with very specific health issues e.g. diabetic studentsMember of the Health and Safety CommitteeSupport and work closely with the school on Child ProtectionInput clinic visits into proactive system REQUIREMENTS: Person Specification:Education:Appropriate Nursing qualification and DHA / HAAD approvedExperience:3 years experience of Nursing in a recognized environment e.g. HospitalCompetencies:An extensive knowledge of Primary Health Care in particular in relation to families and childrenAbility to advise and support colleagues in practical application of effective and efficient health care for young peopleAttributes:Caring and empathetic with an affinity for working with young peopleNon-judgmental and approachableExcellent communication skillsHigh degree of confidentiality
