A position for Research Assistant is available at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. The main objective of the research is in the area of exploring bioactive agents for diabetes and vascular complications. The applicant must have expertise in Immunohistochemistry; tissue processing for various markers to be measured and histology using routine hematoxylin/eosin and immunohistochemical stains. Processes, fixes and processes tissue; troubleshoots routine problems. Embeds and cuts paraffin blocks for staining. Performs H&E and special stains and related quality control procedures. The candidate should be expertise and ability to work and handle laboratory animals like rat, mice. Another technique going on in the lab are tissue culture, ELISA assays. Ability to maintain accurate records regarding events, outcomes, performs basic mathematical and statistical computation and analysis. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned in the lab REQUIREMENTS: Minimum QualificationThe applicant should have at least a Bachelors degree in a biological science with at least one to two years of research experience. Masters degree is Preferable with relevant research experience.
